More than 240 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Leaders have taken part in a County wide video to say ‘thank you’ to our many leaders who are fighting Covid-19 on the frontline.
Parents were asked to record a quick 2-3 second clip of their daughter in uniform saying ‘thank you’ and we have been blown away with the response. We received more than 200 videos before the deadline, many of which had siblings in – meaning a total of 248 girls and leaders took part!
Girlguiding Renfrewshire has many leaders who are classes as ‘key workers’ during this pandemic – from GPs and nurses to pharmacists and carers. Right now they are doing more than they would have ever thought imaginable and keeping the promise as a Guide in the process – doing their best, serving the community and helping others.
The video, which was posted to our Girlguiding Renfrewshire Facebook page, has been viewed more than 5,000 times and has reached more than 8,500 people.
Kirsty Martin, an ICU Charge Nurse, commented: “Thank-you very much for this girls, I’m being very emotional and tearful watching this, keep safe.”
We also received a message from a GP to say it was lovely and had made her day.
