World Thinking Day 22nd February is a special day in the Girlguiding and Trefoil calendar when the 10 million girls in 150 countries celebrate the movement, especially the international dimension.
Trefoil Renfrewshire celebrated with a buffet lunch and the presentation of Voyage Awards to three members.
The Voyage Award is for all Trefoil members and starts at Bronze and goes through Silver to Gold. At each level the same five themes Service, Myself, Teamwork, Skills and Explore my World are worked on for an increasing number of hours at each level.
It is up to each member to select their own challenge for each theme and discuss it with a mentor.
At the lunch Elizabeth, past chairman of Trefoil Scotland, presented Bronze Awards to Helen and May who join Corina and Sheila who have already completed Bronze.
Mar Rae was presented with her Gold Award, the first for the county. Her work included digitising old photographic slides, learning and developing stained glass skills, knitting shawls for a baby charity, being part of a small team creating and delivering a pilot event at Netherurd, walking the Cowal Way, being part of her local Health Walks team and giving a variety of service to Girlguiding.
